    POSTWAR LIONEL 681 PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD S2 STEAM TURBINE & 2671W TENDER
    LOT DESCRIPTION:
    As the title says this lot consists of a Postwar Lionel 681, 6-8-6, Die Cast PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD S2 STEAM TURBINE with the correct matching 12 wheel 2671W PENNSYLVANIA  Tender that was made in the early 1950s. The locomotive has a operating headlight, magna-traction and smoke unit and the tender has the special dual 6 wheel trucks  and it also has a whistle. Both pieces are all original Post War Lionel.  Included are the original boxes (with end flaps issues) and liners (in nice shape)
    DESCRIPTION OF CONDITION:
    The locomotive and tender are both in really great shape. The loco casting is perfect, no breaks, cracks or chips. Front decal looks fine. No rust or missing parts, great color, numbers nice and clear.  The  tender too looks great, no cracks, breaks or chips on the shell, lettering crisp and clear, both rear steps are fine and couplers and trucks all fine. No real issues here at all with this set. Again, a great looking set that IMHO I would rate as in C-7,  excellent plus condition but look at the pictures and you be the judge for the pictures are an important part of the description and say more than my words ever can.
    WORKING CONDITION:
    I have cleaned, lubed and tested the locomotive and it runs and reverses just fine, e-unit cycles perfectly and  the smoke unit works and the whistle on the tender also works fine.
