    This 8" penny rug is just so cute . . .a wonderful mat for a patriotic celebration. . .display base is best for a small jar or votive candle display . . .makes a nice hostess gift paired with a little glass jar of sweet treats . . .the center is a 100% cotton red and white polka dot fabric that I have hand appliqued to a white felted wool felt . . .this sits on a navy blue felted wool felt and mat is backed with this beautiful blue . . .the hearts are barn red felted wool felt with navy blue and a white star with a tiny little red star stitched into the center . . .I have hand stitched "stripes" on the red to make this resemble a heart "flag" . . .I have done a decorative white running stitch on the navy blue outside edge . . .beautiful quality handmade item. . .and so much prettier in person to appreciate all of the hand work and colors. . .my own design and done entirely by hand by me. . .please see my excellent feedback for penny rugs and quilts - many wonderful and LOVED repeat buyers who keep me stitching
