I love the contrasting color on this 8" Valentine's Day penny rug  . . .it is just so pretty . . .it is done in the old fashioned style of "penny coins" . . .space in the center will take a display base of up to 2 3/4" to fit inside the homespun pink area . . .this piece makes a wonderful Valentine's Day gift paired with a little glass jar of candy hearts or a small jar candle . . .I have hand appliqued the 100% pink and white gingham cotton fabric onto an ivory felted wool felt in a color called "fresh linen" . . .this sits on a pretty silver/gray felted wool felt and mat is backed with this silver/gray . . .there are ten double layered coins stitched securely to the mat and they are done in a color called "English Rose"  . . .an ivory felted wool felt coin tops each and then a double layered heart in the same English Rose and ivory  . . .I have hand stitched a rose heart on each . . .beautiful quality handmade item. . .my own design and done entirely by hand by me. . .please see my excellent feedback for penny rugs and quilts - many wonderful and LOVED repeat buyers who keep me stitching
